Overview

FM partnered with Howard Payne University to design and implement a comprehensive audiovisual system for their new Outdoor Pavilion. The project included installing multiple LED walls with custom Draper mounts, terrace TVs, a QSC Dante-enabled audio system, ceiling speakers, and a fully programmed control system. A dedicated rack was installed in the MDF room to house the infrastructure, supporting seamless operation and long-term scalability. FM worked closely with the construction and electrical teams throughout the multi-phase build to ensure alignment with the facility’s evolving needs. The pavilion debuted at the April 26, 2025 grand opening, providing HPU with a fully integrated space capable of supporting campus events, athletics, and community engagement.

Limitations

  1. Adjustments to the MDF room size required design modifications to properly fit equipment racks.
  2. Coordination challenges with the electrical contractor impacted conduit routing and box placement.
  3. Construction delays including a spray foam insulation phase affected installation scheduling.
  4. Timeline pressure due to fixed dates for the football team event and the pavilion grand opening.

The Solution

FM delivered a turnkey AV solution tailored to the Pavilion’s outdoor environment and HPU’s operational needs. Custom Draper mounts supported multiple LED walls, while terrace TVs were tested and integrated using HDBT. A QSC Dante based audio system with ceiling speakers ensured consistent, high quality sound coverage throughout the venue. FM also implemented a programmed control system for intuitive management of displays, cameras, and speakers. All infrastructure was centralized in a professionally installed rack within the MDF room, providing reliability and long term serviceability. Despite construction and scheduling challenges, FM coordinated closely with contractors, adjusted designs as needed, and resolved equipment functionality issues prior to launch.
